JakeKohl
New J22 sailor here - migrated from beach cats (though I haven't given up beach cats!). I have boat #554 and have been having a great time (and some success) club racing with this boat. After a series of getting used to managing the boat, we're starting to dig deeper and start working on tuning. The first issue is that I need to determine if I have the angled or flat mast base step - how obvious is the difference between the two? Is the angle vs. flatness of the mast base plate obvious? scottydog
You should be able to see the slight angle. If not APS and other vendors have them for $60. You may find your forestay needs to be lengthened a bit.
