Can1
I am in the process of re-rigging our boat for the season. We are going to be racing OD events and the rare phrf event. My question is this: Will I need a downhaul even when the windward tweaker is full on, with the boat is on a reach in good breeze to keep the pole from skying? I have been able to remove the downhaul on similar style boats (and prefer it). I have the tweaker located outboard of the chainplates, which offers sufficient downforce to avoid a skied pole while reaching in heavy air. Thanks

USA293Jim
We only use the downhaul in light air when it is lumpy. It helps keep the pole and kite more stable. Jim
