jayherrmann
I need to launch and retrieve my J22 at a regatta where ramp launching is the only option. Getting her in is easy but without a trailer winch or bow eye I am not certain on the best method to retrieve her. When I float her onto the trailer with the keel guide, what is the best method to hold her In place with the bow against the bow roller? Since the bow roller is below the level of the deck, if I fasten her from the bow to the trailer the bow will be pulled down instead of forward. In an old post I saw a reference to a method to fasten at the stern Any advice would be welcome. Thanks Jay
scottydog
I ramp launch all the time. WIthout an eye you could fasten a line to the bow cleat, run it over the trailer winch. Pull the boat up as much as you can, hold some tension with the line, and start pulling the trailer out. It may not be perfect but it will be close. If the boat is slightly aft on the trailer head downhill and hit the brakes. lol
