LJSilver
I am trying to get a new main halyard (wire to rope) and am having some trouble getting one made, The answers to these questions would go a long way in helping. 1. What is the length of the wire portion of a J22 wire to rope main halyard? 2. What is the length of the mast? 3. Can this main halyard be replaced without dropping the mast? Thanks for any help that can be given.
TyeDyedGary
Don't waste your time with a rope to wire halyard. The wire section will fray / separate and hang up in the goose-neck at the top of the mast. go with dyneema core line. Every boat I have ever sailed on that has had a rope to wire halyard, has had that happen and someone has had to go up the mast to free the sails.
