Hissy Fit (formerly Flying J) is a well-maintained, fresh-water boat only, sailed originally in Oklahoma City and Austin. She was dry-sailed or stored on a hydro-hoist. The initial owners kept and raced her for 20 years and the second owner bought her in 2011. She is a competitive boat used in national championships in 2005..2008 and at the 2008 Adams Cup. The second owner only sailed her in local races at the Austin Yacht Club.

Hull is the original GelCoat, buffed and smooth, never painted.  Faired by Fred Schroth in Texas.  The rudder is faired and smooth with an epoxy barrier coat.

• Three sets of J/22 Class Quantum sails w/ bags:

  • Regatta sails: main and jib used once in J/22 circuit stop, Airex spinnaker new, never used (Solid Blue)

  • Club racing sails: main and jib in good condition, spinnaker used 6 times, total of 5 hours (Blue and Yellow)

  • Practice sails for Beer--can races.  (Spin is Blue, Red, & Yellow)

  • Interior sanded, 2 coats of primer, and 2 coats of paint

  • All interior wood refinished

  • Trailer bunk support bolts replaced with SS bolts

  • New bow stop on trailer

  • Tiller refinished with new SS hardware.

  • New 20’ Tongue extension with 2” Ball Hitch installed on trailer 

  • 3 drama free ways to launch (9’ extension, 20’ extension, or lift)

• 2020:

  • Standing rigging replaced – Bahama Rigging

  • Trailer refurbished, repainted, new wood pads and mesh covers from Bartlett Sails, new tires and LED lights
