It's spring and time to put the real rope back in the mast. An earlier post about re-running a spinnaker halyard talked about ensuring that this halyard ran aft of the spreader compression bar. Should all the lines run aft of the bar?

Thanks!

Halyards go aft of the spreader bar.

I like the topping lift to go in front of the bar. Lars

I put everything aft of the bar. Although the toppinglift is a straigter shot forward of the bar, the "V" shape of the bar forces the lines in front of it off to one side or the other where they may get pinched between the wall of the mast and the bar.

Given the light loads on the topping lift and the straighter shot, Lars' approach probably works just fine, too.
